Short Bio

I am currently a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University. My supervisor is Professor Ee-peng Lim. I am a member of the Social Network Mining Research Group.

I pursued my Ph.D. degree in the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, under the supervision of Dr. Stephen C. F. Chan and Dr. Korris F. L. Chung. My research focused on data and text mining techniques with applications to collaborative filtering and sentiment analysis. I defended my thesis in March, 2009.

Research Interests

I am interested in data and text mining approaches to recommendation and prediction problems involving user-generated content. More specific research areas that I worked on/have been working on are as follows:

  • Social Network Analysis (since 2008)
  • Sentiment Analysis (since 2006)
  • Collaborative Filtering / Recommender Systems (since 2003)
  • Computer-Supported Collaborative Work (CSCW) (2002-2003)
